Phases of the process

Obtaining knowledge of the business through initiation of the project |

Carrying out an impact analysis (BIA – Business Impact Analysis), its purpose being the determination of the critical process of the business, evaluation of economic and operational impacts on the business in case there are no human, logistic or technologic resources to execute the same, in addition to establishing a priority order for the recuperation of said processes |

Performing risk analysis, the critical processes identified in the previous phase, offering as available options: eliminating, minimizing or taking the assessed risks. |

Developing continuity strategies and assessing them until a balance between expenses, risks to be minimized and expected benefits is achieved. |

Documenting the procedures to be followed according to the adopted strategy. The procedures include planning of resources, logistics and technology needed to restore the business’ essential services. |

Testing restoring solutions and performance of exercises based on the Plan to ensure its good functioning and being able to update weak points encountered along this phase. |

The Business continuity plan may include
